Red Hook Lobster Pound
During the summer Tal and I spent a lot of time using our citibike passes and riding around exploring the city. We would ride down the east river to the Southstreet Seaport and explore Smorgasburg, we did our Williamsburg day trip, rode around Central Park, but I really wanted to show him something special - one of my favorite nooks and crannies of New York - Redhook. We took a cab down to the Pier 16 - Southstreet Seaport and waited for the Ikea water taxi to arrive. The tri

Radegast Hall & Biergarten
I realize I’ve told many of you about this little treasure of mine many times, and it is well known amongst the brooklynites, however, I had the pleasure of showing my friend Williamsburg as he hasn’t had the chance to meander past the east river to do so yet. We met at 14th st & 8th ave subway, and took the L train over. I reminisced the pop your ears make as we made our way through the submersed Brooklyn bound tunnels under the east river. We got off at the bedford ave stop

Strangeways Coffee
Strangeways Coffee located in up and coming Bushwick Brooklyn, is as the title reads - strange. I knows its a little different but this here is my boyfriends new venture! Along with Sal and Eddie, this dream became a reality and an awesome coffeeshop at that. When you walk in you are welcomed by a wooden bar that holds all the machinery and leads your eyes to a big menu chalked onto the back wall. I love that for a non coffee freak like me who finds great happiness in the sim

Skinny Dennis
Hello New York City 2013! I’ve been gone and busy but now i’m back, and to start my year of blogging I have a cool new bar that my friends opened last night! Skinny Dennis is the newest addition to Williamsburg, Brooklyn! On the corner of Metropolitan and Berry, this new honky-tonk bar is one of the funnest bars I’ve been to in the Williamsburg scene. So the grand opening of Skinny Dennis was last night and the bar hosted an open bar from 8-10 no cover so the bar got packed q

Modca
You know when it’s 2pm and you have a bag full of work that you need to get done, and you just want to find a nice cozy cafe, order a coffee and just channel all your focus into completing your tasks. Now you make your way to that cafe you normally go to and order your coffee only to realize that there is nowhere for you to nestle. All seats are taken by people who rushed there before you with the same intent. This happened to me twice in the same day, once with my usual coff

Sanford and Sven’s Second Hand
Second hand would not be how I would describe Sanford and Sven’s antique boutique. Though you will most likely need two hands when leaving this shop, the items you find here are mind-blowing. Located on North 3rd street (Williamsburg), right across from a Czech Biergarten called Radegast, this second hand store carries antiques ranging from license plates to dishes to bicycles and more. Walking in, the first thing I notice is that where I have walked in isn’t even the main pa

Luckydog
This has been one of my favorite ‘secret’ dive bars since I have moved to the city. Located on one of the busiest streets in Williamsburg, Luckydog is the best dive bar I have been to yet! Located between South 1st street and South 2nd street on Bedford ave, its only a 10 minute walk from either subway stops (Marcy - J, Bedford - L), it is worth the short walk. Upon entering Luckydog you are welcomed with a warm hello and smile from one of the guys that check id’s (I like tha

Whirlybird
Top notch espresso breakfast tacos. So my boyfriend and I walk to this place called Whirlybird. Now i’m not a big fan of tacos, but he insisted we cure his hangover there. We are both so hungover but our appetite is still big and so I skim the menu for my choices. I have 4. I order the ‘mega-bacon’ aka BBLT. It’s description summarizes its contents to “sweet Cajun bacon on a bed of lettuce, grape tomatoes, topped w/ a bleu chese sauce.” and a special of the day – watermelon s
