This is one of the most amazing recipes my mom recently taught me awakening and feeding Living Yeast. In order to start this process, you have to have dry yeast to awaken or living yeast.


  • Mix 100gr rye flour with 100gr water.

  • Add 1 tbsp of living yeast from the fridge and throw out the rest.

  • Leave stand 12 hours covered with cling wrap and a kitchen rag

  • Put 100gr in a mason jar and date.

  • Place in fridge, after 5 - 7 days you have to:

    • feed again – keep 100g and dispose of rest or give away

    • feed again & start baking
