Radegast Hall & Biergarten
I realize I’ve told many of you about this little treasure of mine many times, and it is well known amongst the brooklynites, however, I had the pleasure of showing my friend Williamsburg as he hasn’t had the chance to meander past the east river to do so yet.
We met at 14th st & 8th ave subway, and took the L train over. I reminisced the pop your ears make as we made our way through the submersed Brooklyn bound tunnels under the east river. We got off at the bedford ave stop and I skipped my way through the streets to bring him to the Sunday Smorgasburg market hosted on the river every saturday and sunday. The stands were a combination of goods and food that hot day, and we were longing for a cool breeze and a place in the shade to fill our tummy’s. So i decided we should have a nice late lunch at the Wythe Hotel rooftop - the perfect combination of breeze, view and good vibe.

Soon after spending a couple hours on the roof, I decided to bring my friend deeper into what I would consider a Williamsburg experience ( basically my favorite spots in the area), and he followed me through the busy streets to North 3rd and Berry to Radegast Hall and Biergarten.
The crowd was mellow and the cool breeze made its way through the spacious hall. He ordered a cappuccino with two Jameson shots, and I had the Rekorderlig - the most amazing summer pear cider! As we talked business and adventure and got to know one another better, my long lost friend showed up on his newly refurbished motorcycle. Knowing I hardly make my way past the manhattan banks of the east river he happily joined us on our sunday funday.

While we did not eat at Radegast, the food is amazing! The restaurant is actually owned by an Slovak acquaintance of mine which I had the pleasure of meeting during my time living in Williamsburg. The biergarten reminds me of home, and so I have always had a positive experience there. They have quite a selection of beer and the ambiance will never disappoint.
Our adventure continued as I took my friend from Radegast to Skinny Dennis for their peanuts and sweet tea bourbon ice tea, to La Superior for amazing carne asada tacos, to Lucky Dog for a beer and some puppy love. The night in Williamsburg ended with a positive light on the area and new friends! Sounds like a success to me.
