Last month I was invited by a friend to the friends and family opening of a new spot Jue Lan Club - pronounced u lan, located in the old limelight building on 20th and Avenue of Americas. Because I used to work as a bartender in Chateau Cherbuliez which also made its home under the same roof at one point, I was curious to see what had become of the space.
Approaching the space I noticed the courtyard space had been reorganized, and upon entering the building I noticed a warm nuance to the ambiance. My friend greeted me and had the host seat us in the back dining room.
We ordered two Hot Autumn Toddy - Old Forrester Bourbon, Spiced Pear Puree, Honey Syrup, Lemon Juice. Uh YUM! We peeked over the menu, however the waiter didnt hesitate and we were served the tasting menu - a little bit of everything!
I have to say the food was exquisite - my absolute favorite was the lobster spring rolls! My girlfriend loved the Drunked Sea Bass main course as well as the Raw Yellowtail with Ghostpepper Vinnaigrette! Really everything we ate was on point, I would highly recommend checking out Jue Lan Club - the ambiance is magical, and its a great spot to catch up over drinks with a friend or take a date.
